Caramel's owner, Sarah Watkins, drew inspiration from her grandparents who owned and operated independent grocery stores for over 40 years.
Growing up in a family business environment, Sarah always hoped to open her own business one day. After taking a weekend job at
Nana and learning more about small business ownership, she decided that the time had come
to do her own thing. And Caramel was created.
Sarah has spent the past 14 years managing educational programs and fundraising for non-profit organizations. Sarah continues to work
part-time as a professional fundraiser while she manages Caramel.
The store is named after Sarah's grandfather's favorite candy - Caramel.
